"They are all there fighting against one another, adjacent to Israel's northern border. Let us keep praying that they will stay divided (Luke 11:17)."

The geography of Israel is such that major land invasions come almost solely from the north. On the east and south are mountains and deserts. On the west is the sea. Coming down from the north, before hitting the central mountain range in Judea and Samaria, one arrives at a wide open plain in the Jezreel valley around Megiddo. This is the natural place for a large land battle. From Har Megiddo is derived the name Armageddon.

The Bible speaks of the entrance of foreign armies from the north:

"Evil will open up from the north." (Jeremiah 1:14)

"I will remove the northern army far from you." (Joel 2:20)

"You will come from your place on the sides of the north." (Gog and Magog, Ezekiel 38:15)

In the 1990s American military forces in Iraq formed a certain barrier against the movement of terrorist groups in the region. When the American forces were removed, there was a regrouping of Islamic extremists in the locale. Eventually ISIS was formed, and consolidated forces in a large area of Iraq and Syria. They began to attack the Assad regime in Syria that has been supported by Iran. Therefore Iran and its daughter terrorist group in Lebanon, Hezbollah, began to fight back. In recent weeks Russia has landed forces in Syria, seeking to reestablish their influence in the region.

In short, in the area of Syria immediately to the north of the Israeli border, have been gathered military and terrorist troops connected to: Al Qaida, ISIS, Assad, Russia, Hezbollah, and Iran. They are all there fighting against one another, adjacent to Israel's northern border. Let us keep praying that they will stay divided (Luke 11:17). The one potential issue that could unite them is their common desire to wipe Israel off the map.

Several weeks ago Khamenei, the spiritual leader of Iran, proclaimed that within 25 years Israel would cease to exist. I feel a certain "demonic inspiration" on his "25 prophecy." It may come to pass – but with just the opposite result: that within 25 years the northern, evil coalition will unite to attack Israel, which will lead to the events of the end times tribulation and eventually to the coming of Messiah Yeshua in victory and power to restore the kingdom to Israel and rule the earth in the Millennium from Jerusalem.

"The true cause of this crisis is being largely ignored - radical Islam."

Today we are seeing the worst refugee crisis since World War II. Europe is being overwhelmed with refugees fleeing from Syria and the Middle East region. There are heart-wrenching images of men, women and children fleeing for their lives and even dying on the way. While the media is placing much of the blame on European Union, to receive and assist these refugees, the true cause of this crisis is being largely ignored – radical Islam.

We should also notice the fact that the Muslim refugees are not seeking asylum in neighboring Muslim countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, and others, but would rather risk their lives on the long perilous journey to Europe. They are seeking to escape the violence, abuse, torture, and murder they have endured at the hands of devoted radical Muslims. They understand that they will not find compassion in these Muslim countries. On the contrary some trying to cross these borders have been met with gunfire.

It is interesting to note that the decision of the German government to receive and help the refugees comes in this 70th year anniversary of the close of World War II.

"Integrity is faith ... Our peace of mind by trusting a sovereign and all-powerful God is also a victory in faith, even if it does not appear so."

The word faith has many dimensions in its biblical context. To summarize and simplify, we could group them into three general categories: Victory, Integrity and Serenity.

Victory: this first type exercises the power of the Holy Spirit in the authority of the name of Yeshua. It moves mountains and makes whatever you say come to pass (Mark 11:23). It causes demons to flee and miracles to happen by the faith of the believer. Faith takes dominion over our circumstances.

Integrity: the Hebrew word emunah means not only faith but faithfulness. A person of faith can be trusted in times of difficulty. By faith we say "no" to the temptations and attacks of the world, the flesh and the devil. Biblical faith demands proven and tested character. Integrity is faith.

Serenity: sometimes we are called to trust God in the midst of difficult situations even though we simply do not know why they are happening. Even if the outcome is not what we want, we can trust God that He knows and sees things we do not. Our peace of mind by trusting a sovereign and all-powerful God is also a victory in faith, even if it does not appear so.

We need discernment as to which type of faith should be activated in any given situation. Unfortunately I have often made mistakes in this area and have caused damage to those around me. Sometimes we need to command the dead to rise (John 11:43). At other times we need to let someone lead us where we do not want to go (John 21:18).

"My current medical situation of fighting cancer has had a very positive impact on the day to day functioning of the congregation."

My current medical situation of fighting cancer has had a very positive impact on the day to day functioning of the congregation.

The young leaders in whom we invested many years of our lives are taking new responsibility upon themselves.

The timing was not our plan, but we praise God for the fruitfulness and advancement that we are witnessing. We also praise God for the "tidal wave" of love that we have seen sweep the congregation in response to our present trial.

The growth is not just in numbers but in an increase of anointing in worship, in the Word, and in the gifts of the spirit.

We believe that our congregation has a mighty destiny and is being prepared to be an end time congregation in the midst of Jerusalem - with signs and wonders evident - hastening the return of the Lord.

Our celebration of Yom Kippur this year was again abundantly blessed. The five congregations from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and their leadership teams, were in exemplary unity. The rooms at Yad Hashmonah were packed to the full. The presence and anointing of the Holy Spirit through all the worship and teaching times was tangible.

We had public readings of Jonah, Hebrews, and Leviticus (from the Torah scroll). After fasting all day, we ended with the blowing of the Shofar, with shouts of "Baruch Haba". From speaking in Hebrew to praying in tongues, the whole event was prophetic in nature, filled with love, and honoring Yeshua. Something of historic significance is taking place.
