Dear Faithful Friend,
Last week Dafna Meir, 39, a mother of 6 from Otniel, a small Israeli village in Judea was murdered. She was outside, painting the door to her house when a 15 year old Palestinian youth attacked her, stabbing her numerous times. She fought him off bravely in an effort to prevent him from entering the house and attacking four of her children who were home. The screams of her oldest daughter scared him and he fled.
Shlomit Krigma was a beautiful young woman of 23. She had come to visit her grandparents at the settlement town of Beit Horon. Monday evening, she left the house for a few minutes to buy some needed items at the local grocery store. She entered the store and a few minutes later, two knife-carrying young Palestinians came in behind her. They jumped on the innocent woman, stabbed her repeatedly and a few hours later, Shlomit died of her wounds. The murderous Palestinians fled and were killed by pursuing police.
Both the families along with the entire nation mourned as these beautiful women was laid to rest the next day.
An Israeli man was wounded Wednesday night in a stabbing attack at a gas station outside the settlement of Givat Ze'ev, north of Jerusalem. This time the attacker was a 17 year old Palestinian.
On Saturday, a 17-year-old Israeli Jew was wounded after he was assaulted by the Damascus Gate of the Old City as he was returning with a friend from praying at the Western Wall. The assailants were two teenage Palestinians who were apprehended a short time later.
And even as I try and update you on the current situation here, three young Israelis were shot at an IDF checkpoint by a member of the Palestinian Authority Security Forces. Two were wounded seriously, the third suffered moderate wounds.
The violent attacks on Israelis have been a daily event here. Innocent people have been run over by vehicles, soldiers have been wounded and drivers have been shot while standing in traffic.
Terrorist violence has been a part of Israel's history since the foundation of the state in 1948.
For 68 years, Israel has desired to live in peace with its neighbors and for those same 68 years, our surrounding neighbors have been dedicated to its destruction.
In response to the unending violence against innocent Israelis, UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon has blamed Israel's "settlement policy" as the root cause of the current violence. The EU and the US are increasingly blaming Israel for what they view as Israel's refusal to submit to Palestinian demands.
The fact that these same Palestinians along with the entire Islamic world are openly committed - not to a two state solution but to the ultimate destruction of Israel is a fact that is totally ignored.
Ban Ki-moon opened the recent Climate Conference in Paris with a moment of silence for terrorist victims and a solemn recital of cities where radical Islamists have murdered people, but with the glaring omission of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
Murdering Jews is now being officially described as resistance to occupation and not terror as it exists all over the world.
For those of us who live here and walk the streets throughout Israel, it is beyond comprehension how world leaders could look at the violence that is being loosed against this nation daily and ignore the Israeli victims and instead express sympathy for the death of the terrorists and their cause.
Such thoughts were never expressed when France responded to their recent terror attack. From the Twin Towers in NY to attacks in Africa and Europe, world leaders always endorse a nation's response as they endeavor to protect themselves against Islamic terror.
But Israel, the nation that has suffered longer and worse than any other nation in the world, is openly condemned as they respond to terror attacks against its citizens.
We are calling on you to first and foremost be in prayer over the ongoing attacks in this nation. Pray with us that the powers that are encouraging its people to commit these attacks will be broken and defeated. Pray that Israel would have wisdom and successful strategy as they respond and that peace and quiet would return to this nation for a long season. And please pray for the many wounded victims and the mourning families that have lost loved ones. And of course pray against the spirit of anti-semitism that causes so many nations of the earth to condemn Israel as it takes a stand against terror.
Together as we call on our Lord and God who loves Israel and has promised to protect and watch over it, we will see victory prevail.
Personal Health Report
On February 11, we will pass six months since the initial brain surgery.
I will have another MRI on February 17 and we ask you to join us in prayer declaring my brain cancer free
I was also recently approved for a new treatment which is a vaccine that will cause my white blood cells to identify hidden cancer cells as "enemies" and thus work to destroy them.
We appreciate all your prayers for increasing strength and stamina and that I would not suffer any side effects from the treatments. We are confident and believe that "By His stripes I AM HEALED!" Yeshua has "destroyed the works of the enemy" and "no weapon formed against me shall prosper." In Him "the old has passed away and all things (my brain) have been made new." We apply all of these promises and so many more from God's Word to my current health situation and believe that "in Him we are more than conquerors."
This is a long battle and one we are fighting not just for myself alone but we are contending to see and experience a greater release of the miraculous throughout the entire Body of Messiah. There are too many people we know who have been diagnosed with cancer and other diseases! Join us in this fight in prayer and we will see the power and mercy of the Lord manifest in my life and the lives all those who are afflicted. "Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world!"
We send you our love from Zion,
